Angels are a different species from humans.

The name angel means messenger. These beings help to relay information to and from us. Some of them stand guard over us.

Chief amongst the guardians is Archangel Michael. He will often be seen in his armour, carrying a sword. His strong presence is protective, and reminds us to be strong and valiant.

Gabriel is well known in the Judaeo-Christian-Islam religions as a messenger from God. He/she came to Mary to announce the coming of Jesus.

Jophiel, as his name suggests, is jovial. He rarely comes to me without making me laugh. He is said to impart wisdom.

Other well known archangels are Uriel and Raphael. Raphael is particularly known for his healing energy.

Archangel Metatron is well known in the Jewish mystic tradition. He is regarded as so high that he is given dominion over Kepher, the topmost part of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life.

Although most archangels are referred to as masculine, in fact many angels feel feminine, androgynous or asexual.

There are several levels to the angelic realms. Thrones are part of the angelic kingdom who have dominion over a whole planet. These are of a different order than archangels. Occassionally seraphim will make their presence felt during a session. They are very high indeed.
